Steel plates and sheet for construction
Contractors and steel erectors buy base plates, gusset plates, cleats and bent sections from us, cut and drilled to the structural drawings, along with full sheets and plates.

Typical grades and thicknesses
| Part | Typical material |
|---|---|
| Column base plates and embed plates | MS plate, 10 – 25 mm |
| Gusset and connection plates | MS plate, 6 – 16 mm |
| Cleats, brackets and stiffeners | MS plate, 5 – 10 mm |
| Bent purlins and channels | HR or GI sheet, 1.5 – 3 mm |
| Flashing and trims | GI sheet, 0.5 – 0.8 mm |
Typical values only. Follow the structural engineer's drawings and specification for every part.
Holes cut with the profile
Bolt holes and slots are cut with the outline on the CNC table, so plates line up on site.
Cut and bent to your drawing
We CNC cut and press-brake bend parts in Okara, so you get finished pieces instead of full sheets to cut yourself.
Mill-certified sheet
HR, CR and GI sheet and MS plate from 0.5 to 25 mm, with mill certificates for every bundle.

Common questions
What thickness is used for steel base plates?
Base plates for columns are commonly 10 to 25 mm mild steel (MS) plate, depending on the column load and size. The structural engineer's drawing gives the exact thickness and bolt layout.
Can you cut base plates with the bolt holes?
Yes. We CNC cut the outline, bolt holes and slots in one go from your drawing, so every plate matches.
Can you bend purlins and channels?
Yes. We press-brake bend C and Z sections and channels from HR or GI sheet, typically 1.5 to 3 mm thick, to the lengths you need.
Can you get the steel to my site?
We don't run our own trucks, but we load at Okara and can help you book a transporter to your site. Tell us the location when you ask for a quote.
